We offer culturally & linguistically appropriate services. Most of our care staff is able to communicate with our service users in their language and is able to support them as per their cultural needs, such as preparing ethnic food for them. The languages our care staff speak is Gujrati, Hindi, Bengali, Punjabi, Swahili and Urdu.
Trustees & Directors
Our trustees have more than 25 years of experience in social care, public administration, IT and other fields. Their wealth of knowledge and experience has guided NLAC through difficult times like COVID 19 pandemic and has helped it achieve long- and short-term objectives. Moreover, they work voluntarily, which means they do not get monetary gains from the charity.
Naveen Sharma is the registered manager at NLAC. Naveen did his MBA in Health Care Management in the year 2011 from University of Wales and has more than 11 years of experience supporting vulnerable adults and leading teams in the community.
Asha Shukla is QCF 5 qualified and also has more than 11 years of experience working with vulnerable adults in the community. Asha leads operational team and supports them with day-to-day functioning.
Other team members
Our highly qualified and experienced team includes QCF 3 qualified care coordinator and field care supervisor who have been with NLAC for more than 4 years now.
We understand the important job our care staff do and also concerns our service users or their loved ones may have, hence, we make sure all our workers are fully vetted and that they go through reference, enhanced CRB checks and mandatory training before they are offered any job. Though we recruit applicants with no care experience as well, we make sure they have required level of knowledge and skills before they support the vulnerable by offering them essential training and mentoring.
Multilingual & multicultural staff
Apart from speaking English almost all our care staff speak second language such as Gujrati, Bengali, Urdu, Punjabi or Hindi, which allows us to support linguistically and culturally disadvantaged service users.
Being charity, our hourly rates are much less than our competitors. Also, what ever profit we earn is put back in the organisation to support local community.
More than 95% of our service users are happy with our services as per the our last annual survey.
Low Staff Turnover
We have less than 20% of annual staff turnover which is 10% below the national average. Many of our staff have been working with us for more than 5 years now.
Out of Office Hours Officer
We are there to answer any urgent query you may have, even after we are closed. Our out of office hours officer and monitoring officer ensure that vulnerable people who we support have been visited by the appointed staff.
Our care staff is able to document medication administration electronically which allows us to monitor it in real time thereby ensuring safety of our service users.
Our care staff uses electronic daily record sheets (eDRS) which has helped us improve our auditing process and response time.
